Yanil Teron
Since 2007, Yanil Terón serves as Executive Director of the Center For Latino Progress – CPRF, the only Latino workforce development organization established in CT since 1979. She has served in the organization’s senior leadership for eleven years. She has expanded the Center’s workforce contextualized programs; its comprehensive support services, and civic/leadership educational activities. Ms. Terón works in maintaining the Center culturally competent services that foster individual and community growth. Under her leadership, the organization has been prudently administered fiscally and programmatically. Funding sources have shown increased confidence in her leadership by expressing amplified interest in the Center’s bridge programs expansion, leadership development and advocacy.

Ms. Terón is committed to see that the community the Center serves has the skills and competencies needed to succeed in employment, become stable members of their communities, gain civic engagement, and achieve financial sustainability.

During Ms. Terón’s tenure, Center has increased its visibility by strategically engaging, partnering and expanding the agency’s relationships with local, statewide and national organizations. Ms. Terón serves as the elected Northeast Council Representative to the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) as the voice of organizations serving Latinos from Pennsylvania to Maine.

Yanil holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Baruch College in New York, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and graduated Cum Laude from University of Puerto Rico with a B.A. in Public Communication. She was a member of Quest 2004 – Leadership & Community Building Program from Leadership Greater Hartford, CT.

She has participated and served in a variety of capacities in community organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people.

Ms. Terón, was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has been a resident of Connecticut for 30 years and now resides in South Windsor.
